Parks Victoria

Building a future-ready environmental data ecosystem.

Improving how environmental data is collected, managed and used by Parks Victoria, this project aims to streamline field-to-system workflows, strengthens data governance, and builds tools for clearer reporting and better decisions—reducing manual effort and supporting more effective, goal-aligned conservation planning.

Challenge

Parks Victoria faced challenges with manual data handling, and a lack of timely inconsistent reporting, and limited visibility across its environmental programs. Disconnected systems and ad hoc processes made it difficult to ensure data accuracy, meet reporting obligations, and support timely, evidence-based decision-making at both operational and strategic levels.

Solution

CreateBig has delivered a roadmap outlining gaps and future priorities, designed a modern data architecture, and built a proof-of-concept workflow that automates field-to-EIS integration and reporting. Robust governance safeguards data integrity, while intuitive dashboards provide real-time analytics and consistent reports for field staff, supervisors, and executives.

Impact

The project improved Parks Victoria’s data integrity, reduced manual processes, and delivered automated, accurate reporting to support timely decision-making. Clear workflows and user-friendly dashboards increased adoption across field and executive teams. A future-focused roadmap now guides technology investment, ensuring scalable, interoperable systems that support adaptive management and long-term environmental planning.
